GILLESPIE MACANDREW BOOSTS COMMERCIAL PROPERTY TEAM WITH KEY HIRE
Heather McCracken joins Edinburgh firm as Associate
Gillespie Macandrew has appointed Heather McCracken as Associate to its burgeoning Commercial Property department. McCracken, previously of Bell and Scott, has been hired to further develop Gillespie Macandrew’s strategic land and house-builder work.
Her appointment brings the total number of Associates at the Law Firm of the Year to 11 following Stephen Gamba’s promotion to Associate within the Rural department in November 2007.
Heather McCracken said: “Joining Gillespie Macandrew is an exciting opportunity for me and one I simply couldn’t ignore. The firm has grown to an incredible extent over the past few years and is an extremely vibrant Scottish firm to work for. I look forward to helping develop the Commercial Property team and seeing it go from strength to strength.”
Derek McCulloch, partner and head of Commercial Client department said: “Heather is a well-respected figure and highly experienced lawyer within the Scottish legal commercial property sector and we are delighted to announce her appointment.
“With the capacity to demonstrate a full-service offering to clients, we believe the hiring of key figures in their respective fields will allow Gillespie Macandrew to continue to expand in 2008 and beyond.”
Gillespie Macandrew was awarded Law Firm of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards in 2007 and is preparing to defend the title into 2008. The Edinburgh-based firm has 150 employees, with turnover projected to break £10m.
